Let the bite be checked
The restoration should feel comfortable when the teeth meet. If one tooth contacts first or chewing causes pain, arrange an adjustment rather than waiting indefinitely for it to “wear down.”
Follow material-specific instructions
Ask when to eat after placement, especially if anaesthesia or a temporary cement was used. Keep the area clean and avoid using teeth to open packages or bite hard objects.
A restoration does not prevent decay
Clean the gumline and between teeth. Your dentist can demonstrate how to floss around temporary work or clean beneath a bridge without dislodging it.
If something moves or breaks
Keep any detached piece safe and contact the center. Do not use household glue or repeatedly push a loose restoration back into place. Persistent sensitivity, swelling, or pain needs assessment.
If you grind your teeth, discuss whether an appropriately designed protective appliance is indicated.
