Understand what the titanium part does
Titanium may form an implant, an abutment, or a supporting framework within a restoration. These are different components. A “titanium restoration” does not necessarily mean the visible teeth are metal.
Why it may be selected
A framework can support a larger prosthesis while providing defined connections to implants. Its performance depends on design, manufacturing, interface compatibility, and how the visible restorative material is attached.
Fit and maintenance
The team checks whether the framework seats accurately without unwanted strain. Screw access, repairability, and cleaning access should be considered before finalization.
Long-term clinical studies support selected milled titanium framework designs, but their results cannot be applied to every configuration or manufacturing method.
Questions worth asking
What is the framework supporting? Which parts are replaceable? Is the implant connection original or a verified compatible component? How will the dentist manage a loosened screw or damaged veneering material?
