Turn preferences into a discussion
Digital smile design uses photographs, scans, and planning software to explore tooth position, proportions, and the relationship between teeth, lips, and face.
Preview before committing
A visual simulation can help communicate preferences. Where appropriate, a physical mock-up or provisional restoration provides additional information about speech, lip support, and the bite.
Design must respect biology
The proposed result needs enough healthy tooth support, suitable gum conditions, and an achievable restorative plan. A screen image should never justify unnecessary removal of sound tooth structure.
Important limitations
The preview is not a guarantee of an identical final shade, shape, or gum response. Lighting, materials, clinical findings, and healing can change the result. Ask which aspects are illustrative, which can be tested, and which alternatives require less intervention.
