Computer-controlled delivery systems regulate how local anaesthetic solution is administered. The aim is to make delivery more controlled and potentially more comfortable.
What the evidence means
Clinical research has found comfort benefits in some settings, but a particular study does not prove that every injection or procedure will be painless. Technique, injection site, anxiety, inflammation, and individual response all matter.
What remains the same
The dentist still selects the drug and dose from your medical history, checks effectiveness, and monitors your response. A digital device does not necessarily remove the needle and does not provide sedation.
Before your appointment
Discuss previous reactions, medical conditions, and current medication. Ask whether this device is appropriate and available for your planned procedure. If sharp pain occurs during treatment, signal the dentist rather than trying to tolerate it.
