Digital manufacture, individualized fit
Digital dentures use computer-aided design with milling or printing for selected stages. They may replace all teeth or be part of a partial-denture workflow, depending on the prescribed system.
Records remain essential
The clinician still needs accurate tissue records, jaw relationships, tooth position, lip support, and speech assessment. Completely toothless mouths may require conventional or combined impression techniques.
What a digital file can help with
A saved design may simplify some future remakes, but the mouth changes over time. Reusing an old file does not remove the need to reassess tissues and the bite.
Adjusting to a new denture
Adaptation, review visits, and adjustments may be needed. Persistent soreness, instability, or difficulty chewing should be assessed; do not grind or reshape the denture at home.
Care
Clean the appliance using the material-specific instructions and clean the mouth as well. Discuss overnight removal, storage, and whether adhesives are suitable. A removable denture and a fixed implant bridge require different care.
